About The Role As our Test Lead – ACE Program, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality digital solutions across the City's Asset and Customer Enablement (ACE) Program.
Working across a diverse technology landscape, you'll champion quality throughout the delivery lifecycle, from shaping requirements and leading testing through to implementation and business readiness.
In this influential role, you'll collaborate with internal teams, vendors and stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that support confident releases, seamless user experiences and lasting business outcomes.
Work type: 2-year fixed term contract.
Classification: Band 8, $125,701 plus super.
Key responsibilities include:
Recommend professional IT Testing advice and solutions with various stakeholders according to the Business Plan, the City's interests, legislation, policy, and statutory requirements.
Research and analyse IT Testing best practice with confidence, delivering impactful solutions for key stakeholders.
Facilitate innovation and best practice approach in the department and push the boundaries of what is possible in delivering services for customer and community satisfaction.
Develop and maintain strategic networks with relevant key stakeholders within the field to fulfil the City's strategic objectives.
Develop and implement best practice processes for conducting testing activities for projects comprising multiple integrated systems and processes.
Develop and document test plans for functional and non-functional requirements.
Coordinate the activities and efforts of testers across multiple projects.
Mentor and coach internal testers and stakeholders on best practices to achieve agreed outcomes in collaboration with managers.
Manage testing environments to ensure they are properly configured for test execution.
Provide regular reports on testing progress, outcomes and metrices.
Develop Test Strategies and Test Plans in collaboration with Project Managers.
About You




To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in IT or Business or similar fields.
Essential Experience:
Significant Professional experience as a Test Lead or Senior Tester, preferably within a Local Government or Public Sector setting.
Demonstrated experience in leading the Test and QA practice and coaching/mentoring the other test analysts within the team.
Demonstrated people skills to support, influence, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
Well-developed writing, presentation, and speaking skills to align with stakeholders and achieve support for task outcomes.
Well-developed problem solving and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build collaboration and partnerships.
Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and toolsExperience with automation testing tools and frameworksProficiency in test management software and QA methodologiesWorking knowledge of SQL and scripting
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
