About the role
This position is a dynamic role, that combines dental reception with patient support, with chairside dental assisting and sterilisation/instrument processing often part of the day-to-day workflow.
Reception and patient care
Meet and greet patients in a warm and professional manner
Schedule and confirm appointments
Maintain an efficient and well-managed appointment book
Answer incoming telephone calls and manage patient enquiries
Process accounts and HICAPS claims
Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence with referring dentists and external providers
Liaise with laboratories, pathology providers and other external organisations as required
Carry out general administrative and clerical duties
Clinical support
Assist chairside with periodontists and hygienists as required
Prepare and turn over treatment rooms
Assist with instrument processing and sterilisation
Support the clinical team to ensure the day runs smoothly and efficiently
Training can be provided in chairside and sterilisation tasks for the right applicant.
About you
We are looking for someone who brings experience, maturity, confidence and a strong sense of responsibility to the role.
Essential
At least 2 years' experience in dental or an adjacent specialist health care environment
Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook
Permanent work rights with no restrictions
Ability to obtain or provide a current police check
Highly regarded
Experience with EXACT dental practice management software
Dental assisting and sterilisation experience
Experience working in a specialist, multi-chair or busy private practice environment
Personal qualities
Calm, organised and dependable
Friendly, polished and confident when dealing with patients and referrers
Comfortable working in a mature, established team
A long-term mindset and genuine interest in becoming a valued part of the practice
Someone who takes pride in consistency, professionalism and doing the job well
What we offer
Competitive pay: $34–$39 per hour (depending on experience)
