We are looking for a casualTeam Leaderto assist in supervising a garden maintenance crew.
The ideal candidate may be offered the ability to convert to permanent role after 6 months.

?️ What You'll Do:
Lead a small team of 2 or 3 people keeping parks and public spaces tidy, under the direction of a field based Foreman
Help train new staff and show them how to do the job safely
Check equipment, make sure everything is operational and free of faults
Use your phone/supplied tablet to report jobs and fill in forms
Solve small problems on site and troubleshoot, with the assistance of the field foreman if needed
Make sure safety rules are followed every day
Be someone your team can rely on, trust and look up to
Coordination and execution of seasonal tasks (i.e. winter mulching projects, reduction pruning, periodic herbicide application etc.)
? What You Need:
Required:
Construction White Card
Open Driver's Licence (no interlock)
Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa with full work rights
Physical fitness for outdoor manual work in all weather conditions, including: lifting up to 20kg; walking up to 10 km per day; using small engine equipment without aggravation; bending, stooping, kneeling.
Highly Preferred, but not required:
Certificate III in Horticulture, or Parks & Gardens, Landscaping, or equivalent
MR Truck Licence
First Aid and CPR
ACDC Spraying Licence
TMI (Traffic Management Ticket)
Essential Experience:
Minimum 2+ years in commercial gardening, landscaping, or parks work (residential-only experience not suitable), with basic weed identification
Minimum 1+ year experience leading or supervising a team of 2-3 people
Demonstrated ability to safely operate and maintain industry machinery including hedgers, pruners, edge trimmers, brush cutters with minimal supervision
Experience (preferred):
3+ years in gardening, landscaping, or parks work in a commercial, not exclusively residential, setting, with local weed identification
2+ years leading or supervising a team
Can use a phone or tablet for reporting
Good time management and communication
Strong verbal communication skills for briefing team members, liaising with supervisors, and interacting professionally with the public
