Position:Kitchen Shift Manager (and Kitchen Hand)
Employment:Casual
Hours:***** hours per week
Location:Commercial Kitchen – Malaga
Availability:Monday–Saturday, between 9:00am and 5:30pm
Commencement:ASAP
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations while working alongside your team to ensure production targets, quality standards and food safety requirements are consistently met.
You'll lead a team of 4–8 people, coordinate production, and help maintain the positive culture that makes Get Chunky a great place to work.
It wont be everyday that your rostered as a Manager – so Kitchen Hand work is also needed on set days.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
Lead, coach and support a team of 4–8 kitchen team members
Provide ongoing training, feedback and performance management
Ensure team members follow company procedures and food safety standards
Assist with rostering priorities and daily workflow
Foster a positive, productive and team-focused culture
Production
Assist with production planning and scheduling
Produce large quantities of cookie dough and other products
Weigh and measure ingredients accurately
Prepare ingredients for production




Monitor product quality and consistency
Ensure production targets are achieved each shift
Kitchen Operations
Operate, empty and clean production equipment
Clean and restock workstations throughout the shift
Put away deliveries and rotate stock
Assist with light warehouse organisation
Order supplies and liaise with suppliers
Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe workplace
Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements
What We're Looking For
Previous leadership or management experience in hospitality, food production or manufacturing
Strong organisational and planning skills
Excellent communication and people management skills
Ability to remain calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
Experience producing food using manual and/or commercial production equipment
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and quality standards
Strong time management and multitasking skills
High attention to detail and commitment to product consistency
Ability to work independently while leading a team
Physical fitness with the ability to lift up to 25kg
Previous commercial bakery or production kitchen experience is highly regarded but not essential.
