Position Descriptor:
This position involves teaching a range of Year 7 - 12 English classes. Applicants must have experience successfully teaching Year 12 English, a willingness to teach International Baccalaureate Diploma classes and to supervise International Baccalaureate extended essays.
All staff are expected to undertake a mentoring role and deliver holistic education through innovative pedagogies and technologies in all classes to personalise learning and enrich the delivery of face to face curriculum. Staff are also expected to:
- Develop human capabilities/dispositions
- Use explicit strategies to check for understanding
- Undertake relevant professional learning to support EALD students to succeed
- Seek student feedback and fine tune their teaching based on this feedback
- Incorporate intellectual stretch into all assessment tasks
- Deliver challenging curriculum to IGNITE students
- Participate in the co-curricular program and the extended school day.
The ability to teach another subject area may be required depending on the needs of the school.
