The City of Melville is seeking a highly motivated Senior Traffic Engineer to lead the investigation, planning and delivery of innovative traffic and transport solutions that make a real difference to our community.
Working as part of a collaborative Engineering Services team, you'll manage complex traffic engineering projects, provide expert technical advice, and contribute to creating a safe, connected and liveable city.

$107,****** to $122,****** pro-rata p.a. + 12% Super

What You'll Be Doing
Lead investigations into traffic, parking and road safety issues across the City.
Develop practical engineering solutions that improve safety, accessibility and traffic efficiency.
Manage traffic and transport projects from concept through to implementation.
Prepare technical reports and recommendations for senior management and Council.
Provide specialist traffic engineering advice on development applications and Traffic Impact Assessments.
Lead community consultation and stakeholder engagement on traffic initiatives.
Prepare and manage Black Spot funding submissions and other grant applications.
Coordinate the City's participation in the State Underground Power Program.
Review and develop traffic, transport and road safety policies and procedures.
Undertake traffic data analysis, warrant assessments and road safety audits.
Act as the City's Traffic and Road Safety Coordinator as required
Essential Experience and Qualifications
A Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent recognised qualification).
Extensive experience in traffic engineering, transport planning or road safety.
Demonstrated experience managing complex engineering projects from planning through delivery.
Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, Main Roads WA guidelines and relevant legislation.
Experience assessing development applications and Traffic Impact Assessments.
Excellent analytical, report writing and communication skills.
Experience preparing successful Black Spot funding applications.
Strong stakeholder engagement and community consultation skills.
A current Class C Driver's Licence.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications
Local Government experience.




Road Safety Audit accreditation.
Experience with SIDRA Intersection and traffic modelling software.
Worksite Traffic Management experience.
Policy development and engineering design experience.
