About the role
We are seeking a
Trade Assistant / Scheduler / Estimator
to join our team at our Forrestdale, WA facility. This is a
full-time position
that plays a vital role in supporting our engineering and maintenance operations. In this multi-faceted role, you will work across trade support, job scheduling, and project estimation, contributing directly to the efficient delivery of our services to clients in the mining and resources sector. This position offers the opportunity to develop diverse skills across technical, administrative, and planning functions. This role is 50% Office based and 50% Workshop based
Key responsibilities
Provide hands-on trade assistance to support engineering and maintenance teams on-site and in the workshop
Prepare and maintain detailed job schedules to ensure timely delivery of projects and optimal resource allocation
Develop accurate cost and time estimates for engineering and maintenance projects based on scope, materials, and labour requirements
Liaise between clients, project managers, and trade staff to ensure clarity on project requirements and timelines
Assist in coordinating materials, tools, and equipment required for scheduled jobs
Maintain accurate records of project data, estimates, and scheduling information
Support the continuous improvement of scheduling and estimation processes
Contribute to health, safety, and quality standards across all operational activities
Load and unload trucks with forklift.
HR Truck License preferred.
What we're looking for
Demonstrated experience as a trade assistant or in a similar hands-on support role within engineering or maintenance environments
Great computer literacy as learning Polyworks CMM measuring software and possibly Mastercam is part of the daily role.
Proficiency with scheduling and estimation software, or a strong willingness to develop these skills quickly
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
Excellent communication abilities to work effectively with diverse teams and clients
Competency in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data management and analysis
Sound understanding of health and safety protocols relevant to engineering and maintenance work
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
Experience in the mining, resources, or energy sector is highly desirable
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required
