About the Role
CERT Australia is seeking an experiencedLead Trainer / Instructorto deliver professional training programs in the use ofbatons, handcuffs and OC spray
,
in addition to situational safety and tactical communication training.
This role is suited to a confident instructor with a strong compliance, enforcement, security, corrections, military, policing, regulatory or public safety background. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high quality, safety focused training to groups of adult learners across Australia.
The role requires regular travel, strong personal discipline, and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining CERT Australia's high training standards, compliance requirements and professional reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead group-based training sessions for adult learners in professional and regulated environments.
Deliver practical and theory-based instruction in baton, handcuff and OC spray training programs.
Demonstrate safe, lawful and effective use of equipment in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and training standards.
Assess participant competency and provide clear, constructive feedback.
Maintain accurate training, attendance and assessment records.
Ensure all training is delivered in a safe, controlled and professional manner.
Represent CERT Australia professionally when working with clients, students and partner organisations.
Travel throughout Australia to deliver training at various locations.
Work independently while following CERT Australia's procedures, lesson plans and compliance requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement of training materials, delivery methods and operational processes.
Demonstrated background in compliance, enforcement, security, corrections, policing, military, regulatory operations or a related field.
Proven experience with baton, handcuff and OC spray use, instruction or operational application.
Strong understanding of lawful use of force, safety, risk management and professional conduct.
Ability to confidently instruct groups in both classroom and practical training environments.
Ability to work autonomously and manage training delivery with minimal supervision.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout Australia.
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
High level of professionalism, reliability and personal accountability.
Ability to maintain accurate records and follow compliance procedures.
Highly Regarded
Experience in group instruction, adult education or vocational training.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent training qualification.
Experience working with government, corporate, security, education or regulated industry clients.
Police Clearance and relevant certificates where required
