About the role
We are seeking a talented
Barista
to join the Shaker Maker team in Arundel, QLD. This is a
casual position
******** hours per week ) that offers flexibility whilst allowing you to develop your skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. As a Barista, you will be at the heart of our café operations, crafting exceptional beverages and creating memorable experiences for our customers. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards that define Shaker Maker and contributes directly to our reputation for excellence in the Bar & Beverage industry.
What you'll be doing
Preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages with precision and consistency
Operating and maintaining espresso machines and other café equipment to the highest standards
Taking customer orders and providing recommendations based on individual preferences
Maintaining a clean and organised workstation, adhering to health and safety regulations
Processing payments accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
Building positive relationships with customers and providing exceptional customer service
Collaborating with team members during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations
Restocking supplies and monitoring inventory levels
Following store procedures and maintaining consistent quality standards across all beverages
What we're looking for
Proven barista experience working in a café, bar or fast-paced hospitality environment
Strong knowledge of espresso-based drinks, brewing techniques and coffee varieties
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also managing tasks independently
Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and processing transactions
Flexibility with scheduling and availability for casual shifts
Food safety and hygiene awareness
Passion for coffee and creating positive customer experiences (preferred)
