Location:
Flexible across NSW. Wollongong is the preferred location; however, alternative work locations and remote working arrangements will be considered for the successful applicant.
Travel Requirements:
Travel across NSW is required to support service delivery, stakeholder engagement and operational priorities.
Salary:
$119,972 - $130,314 per annum plus superannuation, in accordance with the Crown Employees (Psychologists) Award.
About the opportunity
The Senior Psychologist (Mental Health Services) is responsible for providing clinical support, supervision, guidance, and advice to members within the NSW SES Peer Support and Chaplaincy Program and to NSW SES Managers to enhance member wellbeing and promote psychological safety in the workplace. This role will also engage with the MAP provider regarding psychological safety, resilience, and mental health issues current or emerging.

The NSW SES serves the NSW community as the lead agency for floods, storms, and tsunamis as specified by the State Emergency Service Act ****. We are recognised as the most versatile and widely used emergency service organisation in NSW. Our volunteers are highly skilled, experienced, and well- trained in the wide variety of roles they perform.
Each NSW SES Unit is as unique and varied as the community it serves,



reflecting the vast mix of risks faced and roles required in the diverse locations and communities across the state. In addition to flood, storm and tsunami, our Service provides specialist capabilities that include general land rescue, vertical rescue, road crash rescue, and alpine and remote area search and rescue. The NSW SES responded to over 64,000 requests for assistance from the community over the ******* year.
The NSW SES has over 10,000 volunteer members, including reserves, and a
full-time equivalent workforce of over 370. There are 262 volunteer Units across the State, and our volunteer Units are either local, community-based Units, State-wide or regional Units established to provide specialist capabilities. They are varied and unique in their capabilities, designed to address specific risks to communities of NSW.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be:
Knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced in trauma informed practice, evidence based psychological tools, theories, and practice, psychosocial hazards, and critical incident response.
A proactive, solution focused individual with sound clinical judgement and a genuine interest and passion for positive outcomes in the wellbeing of yourself and others, especially emergency first responders.
A great team player with a collaborative approach, who is able to develop good relationships and sustainable outcomes for the agency.
Flexible and agile in your approach to this role and assist the Manager Mental Health Services in the refinement, ongoing development and delivery of governance frameworks, systems, and processes.
