Optical Superstore is seeking an experienced
Optical Dispenser/Manager
to join our team in
Toowoomba, QLD
. This is a
full-time position
that offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with management responsibilities. As Optical Dispenser/Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional optical services to our customers whilst also overseeing the day-to-day operations of our store. You will be instrumental in maintaining the high standards Optical Superstore is known for, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving the success of our optical practice.

What you'll be doing
Dispensing and fitting prescription eyewear, including spectacles and contact lenses, with precision and care
Conducting frame selections and lens consultations to ensure customers receive optimal vision solutions tailored to their individual needs
Managing store operations, including stock control, inventory management and ordering of optical products
Overseeing staff scheduling,



training and performance management to maintain service excellence
Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with optical and healthcare regulations
Providing expert advice on lens options, coatings and frame styles to maximise customer satisfaction
Monitoring sales performance
Ensuring the store environment is clean, well-organised and compliant with health and safety standards
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to encourage loyalty and repeat business
Liaising with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to support comprehensive eyecare services
What we're looking for
Recognised qualification or certification in optical dispensing (such as a certificate IV in Optical Dispensing or equivalent)
Proven experience as an optical dispenser, with a minimum of 3–5 years in the optical retail or clinical setting
Demonstrated management experience, ideally in a retail or healthcare environment
Strong knowledge of lens types, coatings, frame materials and optical prescriptions
Proficiency in optical dispensing software and point-of-sale systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers and staff
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment




Strong organisational and time-management skills
Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and optical regulations
A commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and professional conduct
Preferably, experience with frame styling and lens selection for complex prescriptions
