About Noosa Day Hospital
Noosa Day Hospital is a recent multidisciplinary facility featuring three state-of-the-art operating theatres, equipped with the latest surgical technology. The hospital includes modern recovery and patient care areas and supports a broad range of specialties, including Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Breast Surgery, Pain Management and MOHS Surgery.
The hospital is located within the Noosa Health Precinct, alongside established consulting suites for specialists and allied health professionals. This creates a centralised hub for surgical services, including pre- and post-operative care.
The opportunity
We are seeking a full-time
Perioperative Services Manager
to assist the Hospital CEO/DoN in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients undergoing day surgery and to act as a resource person for clinical nurses.
The Nurse Unit Manager will be responsible for:
· Leading by example with the ability to Scrub/ Scout various procedures
· Exemplary Perioperative skills
· Exemplary Ophthalmology skills required
· Knowledge of and evidence of participation in educational activities pertaining to ACORN Standards, Infection Control and Prevention
· Managing clinical staff including performance appraisals, production of rosters
· Developing effective relations with key stakeholders; including CURA, VMO's and Reps.
· Promoting and ensuring safe patient care, evidence of previous experience in Quality, and evidence based best practice policy writing
· Positively implementing change
· Ongoing commitment to OH&S; and risk management.
· Assisting with Quality Management Systems and the ACQSHC National Standards requirements for accreditation
To be successful in this position, you should be able to meet the following criteria:
· Perioperative experience 3-5 years
· Demonstrated leadership and management ability including the capacity to initiate and support change within a team framework
· Well-developed organisational and decision-making skills
· Effective interpersonal and communication skills
· Current AHPRA registration
