This position is classified
as a PACS Band 9 ($112,077 - $129,667) under the City
of Kwinana's structured remuneration system.
What's On OfferAn exciting opportunity exists for an
experienced and strategic professional to join the Perth South West
Metropolitan Alliance (PSWMA) in a pivotal regional leadership role
based at the City of Kwinana. The Perth South West Metropolitan
Alliance represents six local governments in Perth's south west
metropolitan region and works with member councils on shared
advocacy, coordination and regional priorities. The Alliance is
hosted by the City of Kwinana, with the role being recruited and
employed through the City, while reporting to the Alliance Director
and ultimately the Board.
This one-year contract will
support the Alliance in reviewing its regional framework, with a
focus on transport, freight and road planning. The role will suit
an experienced professional who can manage multiple projects,
prepare clear advice and support work across infrastructure,
housing, defence, economic development, environment and other major
regional issues.
As
our new Coordinator Regional Strategy and Projects, you will play a
key role in reviewing and implementing the Alliance's United
Regional Vision while coordinating initiatives across transport
infrastructure, freight and passenger movement, industrial access,
defence infrastructure, housing, economic development and other
regionally significant projects. You will also manage
consultant-led projects, prepare strategic reports and advice,
foster strong stakeholder relationships and help deliver outcomes
that benefit the region as a whole.
Who Are
We?The Perth South West Metropolitan Alliance (PSWMA)
is a voluntary partnership of six local governments — the Cities of
Cockburn, Fremantle, Kwinana, Melville, and Rockingham, and the
Town of East Fremantle. Established in ****, the Alliance fosters
regional collaboration across strategic planning, economic
development, and environmental initiatives. PSWMA employees are




engaged through the City of Kwinana, which provides administrative
support on behalf of all member councils.
What
You'll NeedTo make an impact in this role the
successful candidate will possess the following skills and
attributes:
Tertiary
qualifications in economics, transport planning, engineering,
infrastructure, public policy, data science, GIS, project
management or a related field.
Current
Western Australian drivers' licence.
At least
seven years' relevant professional experience, with experience
closer to 10 years desirable.
Demonstrated experience
in strategic research, analysis, advocacy, infrastructure
planning, transport planning, economic development, project
coordination or a related field.
Strong
understanding of transport, infrastructure or movement issues,
including road networks, freight movement, passenger movement,
public transport, land use
Demonstrated ability to
work constructively with local governments, State Government
agencies, Commonwealth agencies, consultants, industry and
other stakeholders.
