Our Story. Our People. Our Purpose
Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is a well-established Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that has been supporting the Broome community for over 40 years. Headquartered in Broome, Western Australia, BRAMS provides holistic, culturally safe primary healthcare, aged care, and community programs to Aboriginal people throughout the Kimberley region.
BRAMS is proud to operate under our vision: Healthy People – Strong Community – Bright Future.
About the Role
BRAMS is looking for an Aboriginal Enrolled Nurse to join our Community Services team, delivering safe, person-centred nursing support to older people and people with disability across home and community settings. Reporting to the Aged Care Clinical Nurse Manager, you'll complete delegated components of aged care and disability assessments, contribute to care planning, administer medications within your competence and deliver delegated nursing tasks under clinical direction and supervision.
What you'll do:
Deliver delegated nursing care in homes and community settings — wound care, dressings, continence and catheter support, observations, blood glucose checks and medication administration within your scope.
Complete aged care and NDIS assessment components covering function, mobility, continence, cognition,

skin integrity, nutrition and daily living needs.
Conduct home visits to monitor health status, functional changes and environmental hazards, and support consumers to action their care plans.
Support consumers to build and maintain independence — mobility practice, safe transfers, falls prevention, exercise programs and daily living activities under RN or allied health direction.
Work with the Aged Care Clinical Nurse Manager, Support Coordinators, Case Managers and allied health to escalate risks early and keep documentation accurate and timely.
About You
To qualify, you will need to be a registered enrolled nurse with AHPRA registration and identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Experience providing nursing support in home, community or aged care settings.
Competence in medication administration (or willingness to obtain competency).
Ability to complete delegated aged care and NDIS assessment components.
Experience delivering delegated nursing tasks such as wound care, continence care, skin integrity checks, vital signs and pressure injury prevention.
Strong ability to identify and escalate clinical deterioration.

Experience working in home environments and supporting consumers to follow care plans.
Strong communication skills with the ability to provide culturally safe support to Aboriginal consumers and supporters.
As our ideal candidate, you are reliable, organised and able to follow through on agreed actions and care plan tasks. You are willing to learn, take feedback and work under clinical direction, and you bring a strong team focus — sharing information, asking for support when needed and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
