MG Kebab & Curry House is a well-established restaurant in Mount Gambier, South Australia, specialising in authentic Indian, Pakistani and Middle Eastern cuisine. We are committed to delivering high-quality food, excellent customer service and a welcoming dining experience.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian, Pakistani and Middle Eastern dishes, including curries, kebabs and tandoori items.
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
Assist in menu planning and the development of seasonal menu items.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control.
Minimise food waste and assist in controlling food costs.
Supervise and support junior kitchen staff when required.
Ensure compliance with all food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements




Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
At least 2 years of full-time post-qualification experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
Demonstrated experience preparing authentic Indian, Pakistani and/or Middle Eastern cuisine.
Robust knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Current unrestricted Australian work rights.
