Queen Victoria Care is seeking a passionate and experiencedCasual Chefto join our Hospitality and Dining Services Team.

About the Role
As a Casual Chef, you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality meals and dining services that support residents' nutritional wellbeing and overall quality of life.
Working collaboratively with our Hospitality, Lifestyle, Clinical and Care teams, you will prepare and present meals that meet individual dietary requirements, cultural preferences, texture-modified standards, and therapeutic diets while maintaining excellence in food safety and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present meals that meet approved menus, individual dietary requirements, and resident preferences.
Support the delivery of a positive dining experience by ensuring meals are nutritious, appetising, visually appealing, and served at the appropriate temperature.
Contribute to person-centred dining by respecting residents' choices, cultural backgrounds, religious needs, and lifestyle preferences.
Ensure compliance with food safety legislation,
aged care food service standards, infection prevention and control requirements, and Queen Victoria Care's Food Safety Program.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, safe food handling, allergen management, storage, cleaning, and kitchen sanitation practices.
Assist with menu planning, seasonal menu development, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance resident satisfaction and nutritional outcomes.
Prepare texture-modified meals and special diets in accordance with clinical requirements and IDDSI guidelines.
Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and feedback processes related to food services, dining experiences, and resident satisfaction.
Maintain accurate food safety and kitchen records as required.
Work collaboratively with chefs, hospitality staff, care teams, dietitians, and clinical staff to support residents' nutritional and hydration needs.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A minimum offive years' experienceas a Chef, preferably within aged care, healthcare, hospitality, or a similar environment.
Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
Demonstrated knowledge of food safety legislation, food handling requirements, allergen management, and kitchen compliance standards.
Understanding of therapeutic diets,
texture-modified foods, and nutrition principles relevant to older people.
Knowledge of contemporary aged care dining practices and person-centred hospitality services.
Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences that promote resident choice, dignity, wellbeing, and quality of life.
