ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of building services, equipment, utilities and infrastructure.
The role performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities across electrical, plumbing, and general facility systems to ensure safe, effective, and reliable operations.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine inspections, testing, maintenance and repairs of building services, utilities and facility infrastructure.
Install, maintain and repair electrical systems, equipment, fixtures, wiring, lighting and associated components.
Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, sanitary fixtures, pumps, valves, and associated equipment.
Diagnose faults and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing and mechanical issues to minimise downtime and service interruptions.
Conduct preventative maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules and company procedures.
Respond to maintenance requests and breakdowns in a timely manner.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, specifications and maintenance documentation.
Replace or repair defective electrical and plumbing components and equipment.




Test systems and equipment to verify operational performance and compliance with safety requirements.
Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of plant, equipment and facility infrastructure.
Monitor the condition of equipment and recommend repairs, upgrades or replacement where required.
Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders and service documentation.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and other trades where required.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, building standards and company procedures.
Maintain tools, equipment and spare parts inventory required for maintenance activities.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and facility performance.
Support emergency maintenance and after-hours breakdown activities when required.
Perform general building and facility maintenance tasks as directed
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience in electrical, plumbing, maintenance, facilities management or building services environments.
Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical and plumbing faults.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and asset management principles.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and maintenance manuals.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance priorities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Industrial, commercial, manufacturing or facilities environments.
May require working at heights, in confined spaces or outdoors.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
May involve participation in emergency call-out or on-call maintenance rosters
