About the opportunity
The Advancement Portfolio is seeking a Learning & Capability Consultant to drive a strategic approach to workforce capability, leadership development and organisational effectiveness across the portfolio.
Working closely with the Advancement Executive Team, senior leaders and managers, you'll identify current and future capability requirements, proactively assess workforce gaps and design practical solutions that build a high-performing, future-ready workforce.
The role acts as a trusted adviser to leaders, translating strategic priorities into impactful learning, leadership and workforce development initiatives.
This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional learning and development delivery and influence capability at a portfolio-wide level.
You'll lead initiatives spanning leadership development, onboarding, performance and career development, workforce planning and organisational development, while leveraging data, insights and emerging technologies to drive measurable outcomes.
We're looking for someone who can think strategically while remaining highly practical.
You'll be comfortable navigating competing priorities, facilitating conversations with senior stakeholders and responding quickly to evolving business needs to deliver solutions that work in practice.
About you
You are an experienced learning and capability professional with a strong understanding of adult learning principles and a passion for building organisational capability.
You combine commercial thinking, excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a solutions-focused mindset to influence outcomes and create meaningful impact.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering learning, capability and organisational development initiatives.
Experience partnering with senior leaders to identify capability requirements and influence.
Strong understanding of adult learning and contemporary learning practices.
Excellent facilitation, consultation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
The ability to think on your feet, prioritise effectively and balance multiple competing demands.
Experience designing and evaluating capability development programs and learning solutions.
Confidence working with external providers and evaluating learning solutions to achieve business outcomes.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in learning and development, organisational development, education or human resources.
