Reporting to the General Manager and as an integral member of the TWE production team, dedicated to the delivery of the company's philosophy, this is a hands-on role with responsibility for all aspects of TWE winemaking and winery operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the winery and production, overseeing all winemaking activities
• Drive wine quality, maintaining assurance processes, controls, standards, and benchmarks
• Manage budgets and reporting for the winery
• Maintain accurate and up to date winemaking and production systems and records
• Operate a safe work environment, ensuring processes are followed and regulatory compliance is met
• Work collaboratively with the General Manager, Viticulturist, and experienced Technical/Industry Advisors.
• Collaborate with the DTC team to understand the brand strategy and customer expectations
• Represent TarraWarra Estate among customers, trade, media, and industry.




• Introduce and embed improvements in efficiency, quality, and sustainability
• Champion sustainable winemaking practices and resource efficiency across the winery, assessing winemaking inputs and processes
The successful candidate will require:
• Tertiary qualifications in Oenology
• A minimum of five years relevant winemaking experience
• Demonstrable skill, understanding and appreciation of fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines
• Wine sensory and quality analysis training, such as AWAC, Len Evans Scholar or wine-show judging
• Solid technical knowledge
• Software competency and experience with Vintrace or similar
• Management experience & capability
• Excellent communication skills
• Capacity for domestic travel
• Ability to work extended hours when required
• Ability to attend the winery at short notice when required
• Valid driver's and forklift licence
• Current RSA
