Stevens Cargo Servicesis the supplier of specialised machinery to the bulk shipping industry.
The Australian owned & operated family company was established in **** and operates nationwide.
The advertised role is essentially a hands-on role that will be responsible for the servicing of our equipment.
Located in Kwinana Beach WA, this position will provide cleaning and maintenance to machinery used in the unloading of bulk vessels.
Ensuring all machinery, namely diesel & radio grabs, hoppers, tractors, forklifts, generators, service vehicles, EWP's, Komatsu excavators (PC*******) Komatsu skid steers, CAT Skid steers (236D3) etc. are cleaned and serviced at all times in accordance with the high company standards.
Inhouse training is available to employees to enable improvement and upgrade skills.
Please note, this role requires a current driver's license and an MSIC card which requires police clearance.
Applicants hourly rate will be determined based on skills, qualifications and experience.
Duties:
Servicing, repairs and cleaning machines at the berth and workshop
Being on call for vessel operations when required, 24/7 to provide support to all vessels using Stevens equipment
Lubricating and cleaning equipment
Carry out repairs when required on all workshop equipment
Break down & preventative maintenance on fixed plant & mobile equipment
Operate forklifts,
EWP and overhead cranes
Washing down of machinery between vessels
Servicing between and during shipping operations, refueling, servicing hydraulic systems and diesel engines
Setting up machinery for operations
Liaising with staff and contractors at the port
Load / unload machinery from trucks
Experience with Komatsu & CAT equipment (excavators Pc-****** & skid steers 236D3)
Essential qualities for the role include:
WA approved trade certificate (Mobile Plant Technology)
Understanding of mechanical & hydraulic drawings an advantage
Mechanical, diesel & hydraulic experience preferred
Welding Experience - (ARC/MIG)
Have a strong work ethic and are self-motivated
Ability to work unsupervised and manage time
Forklift and EWP licenses required
LR license preferred
Can multitask and enjoy being part of a team
Attention to detail
Adaptable to work weekends and out of hours when ships are working
Requires police checks for MSIC card
Qualification / Experience:
Have good oral communication skills
Professional and positive attitude
Ability to demonstrate a level of analytical and problem-solving skills
Physically fit and able to do manual work
