About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicatedSupported Independent Living (SIL) Lifestyle Support Workerto join our team in Townsville, QLD.
This is apart-time positionthat offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those you support, promoting their autonomy and enhancing their quality of life.
As part of a dedicated team, you will play a vital role in supporting clients to develop independent living skills, pursue meaningful activities, and engage with their local community.
Your work will directly contribute to helping individuals build confidence, achieve their goals, and enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle within the disability support sector.
Key responsibilities
Provide person-centred support to individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, nutrition planning, household management, and maintaining a safe and clean living environment.
Support clients to develop, maintain, and enhance their independent living skills through coaching, practical guidance, and participation in household and community-based activities.
Encourage and facilitate social inclusion, community engagement, and recreational activities that align with clients' individual goals, interests, and support plans.
Deliver emotional support, companionship, and responsive care while respecting clients' dignity, autonomy, preferences, and rights.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of individualised support plans to promote client wellbeing and goal achievement.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, support provided, incidents, and observations in accordance with organisational policies and compliance requirements.
Collaborate effectively with support staff, case managers, families, and allied professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care and positive client outcomes.




Adhere to all organisational policies, qualified standards, health and safety requirements, and confidentiality obligations at all times.
Provide flexible support in accordance with roster requirements, including availability for 24/7 care arrangements and sleepover shifts as required.

Who we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Availability to work rostered hours according to an established roster line, includingweekdays, weekends, evenings, sleepover shifts, and public holidays.




Experience working in disability support, community services, aged care, mental health, or a related sector, with a strong understanding of person-centred support practices.
Relevant qualifications in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, Aged Care, or a related disciplinewill be highly regarded.
A genuine commitment to empowering people with disabilitiesto achieve their goals, build independence, and enhance their quality of life.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive, respectful, and professional relationships with clients, families, and stakeholders.
Compassion, patience, empathy, and a person-centred approach, ensuring clients are supported with dignity, choice, and respect.
The ability to support clients with daily living activities, including personal care, household tasks, community access, and mobility assistance where required.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, complete documentation, and manage competing priorities.
The ability to work both independently and collaborativelyas part of a multidisciplinary team.
Reliability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality support services.
A current National Police Check, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
A current Blue Card (Queensland Working with Children Check), or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
A current Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening Clearance), or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
A current Australian Driver's Licence and access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehiclesuitable for transporting clients where required.
Desirable:
Previous experience supporting people with complex needs, challenging behaviours, or psychosocial disabilities.
Knowledge of the NDIS and person-centred support principles.
Medication administration training and/or experience.
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
