Salary Range:SOF Level 3-$***** to $***** Gross per hour

Mount St Bernard College - Herberton
Mount St Bernard College is located at Herberton on the Atherton Tablelands.
Established in **** by the Sisters of Mercy as a day and boarding school, the College enjoys a proud history and a rich tradition.
The Sisters of Mercy began their educational ministry in the Herberton district over 100 years ago with the opening of St Patrick's Parish Catholic Primary School in ****.
Responding to the changing educational needs in Far North Queensland, the original Sisters of Mercy Boarding School, St Mary's Cooktown, was moved to Herberton in ****.
The Sisters of Mercy gifted the college to the Diocese of Cairns in February **** and it is now administered by Cairns Catholic Education Services.
The Catholic Education Community – Diocese of Cairns, is a partnership between Catholic Education Services and twenty-nine schools.
The Bishop of Cairns delegates responsibility for the leadership and strategic management of this system of 29 schools to the Executive Director of Catholic Education.
The college has approximately 140 students, including boarders and day students.
About the Role
Typical duties performed may include, but are not limited to:
Support residential students withhomework completionand associatedliteracy and numeracy tasks.
Assist student learningindividually and in small groupsunder the direction and supervision of teaching staff.
Provide encouragement and guidance to help students develop confidence, independent learning skills and positive study habits.
Assist with the preparation,



implementation and supervision of learning activities and programs as directed by teaching staff.
Prepare, organise and pack away learning materials and resources as required.
Support students with their physical and wellbeing needs where appropriate.
Foster a secure, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Build positive and respectful relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and behaviours.
Work collaboratively with residential and teaching staff to support student engagement and academic success.
Contribute to a positive boarding and learning environment that promotes student wellbeing and achievement.
