About the role As a Coordinator Engineering Investigations at Yarra Ranges Council, you will lead a team of engineering professionals delivering stormwater investigations across the municipality, providing expert advice on stormwater management, flooding, and Water Sensitive Urban Design initiatives.
You will drive the development, prioritisation and delivery of stormwater capital works programs, oversee grant funding opportunities, and represent Council in key regional partnerships.
Working within the Stormwater and Civil Developments team, you will also provide specialist technical expertise to support infrastructure planning, project development and the strategic management of Council's stormwater assets.
This role has four direct reports.
The location of this role is Lilydale, Victoria.
This is a full-time permanent position (38 hours per week).
This is a Band 7 role with a salary range between $110,534 and $123,686 per annum, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we're looking forLead, mentor and develop the Engineering Investigations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture that supports the delivery of quality stormwater outcomes across the municipality.Provide coaching,
guidance and technical expertise to team members, building capability in stormwater investigations, flood management, Water Sensitive Urban Design and customer-focused service delivery.Analyse complex engineering issues, assess available data and risks, and make informed decisions that support effective stormwater management, infrastructure planning and service improvements.Delegate responsibilities and decision-making appropriately, empowering team members while ensuring accountability, effective resource utilisation and the achievement of team objectives.Drive the successful delivery of stormwater investigations, capital works programs, grant-funded initiatives and pipeline renewal projects, maintaining a strong focus on performance, continuous improvement and community outcomes.Plan, coordinate and prioritise workloads, projects and resources to ensure the timely delivery of investigations, technical advice, stakeholder engagement activities and strategic infrastructure programs.Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Engineering degree recognised by the Institution of Engineers, Australia,
with relevant Local Government experience.Registration as a Professional Engineer in Victoria or eligibility for registration under the Professional Engineers Registration Act ****.Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
