Norrish Earthmoving Repairs are looking for a dependable, enthusiastic and skilled Boilermaker to join the close-knit team in both our Workshop and Field Service Boilermaking division.
Reporting to the workshop supervisors, you will have responsibility for carrying out corrective and breakdown repairs to mechanical equipment in the both the workshop and on sites in the Goldfields.
Your safety-focus and collaborative approach will ensure that all work is completed to the standard that Norrish Earthmoving Repairs delivers, along with contributing to a cohesive work environment.
Key Responsibilities for this role include:
Installing, fabricating, inspecting, repairing structures, equipment and machinery, and evaluating their performance to eliminate defects.
Determining the requirements for a job by studying blueprints, specifications, and fabrication drawings.
Using hand tools, metal cutting machines and flame cutting torches to cut, bend, shape and align pipes and metal sections.
Repairing and fabricating any metal components;
Performing all welding, gouging, cutting or other duties as specified by Supervisor and reporting findings accurately;
Testing and inspecting welds using precision measuring instruments.
Polishing, smoothing, and cleaning welds using grinding, filling, chiseling and acidic solutions to finish products.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
Significant post-trade experience with heavy earth moving equipment.
The ability to work unsupervised and where needed, be willing to work on remote sites
Be willing to carry out basic maintenance outside of welding duties when required
Have strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
Hold a current driver's license, HR preferable
Be able to pass a pre-employment medical
Have or be able to obtain a National Police Clearance
Forklift and High Risk licences
Confined Space with Gas Testing + Working at Heights (desirable).
