Srpatel Pty Ltd operates successful Indian vegetarian restaurants,Simply Vegan n VegandDosa Club, in Pooraka.
The company is now expanding by opening a new restaurant under the same ABN with the trading nameCurry Shurry.
We are seeking an experienced and passionateFull Time Chefto join our team atSrpatel Pty Ltd T/A Curry Shurry, located atShop 10, 200 Richmond Road, Marleston SA ****.
The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, preparing and presenting authentic North and South Indian vegetarian cuisine while maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and customer satisfaction.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform duties consistent with the ANZSCO occupation ofChef (ANZSCO ******), including but not limited to:
Developing menus, estimating food and labour costs, and arranging the purchase of food supplies.
Monitoring the quality of meals throughout every stage of preparation, cooking and presentation.
Consulting with managers, dietitians, kitchen staff and front of house staff regarding food preparation and service requirements.
Demonstrating cooking methods and providing guidance on food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures.
Preparing and cooking a variety of food in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations and maintaining protected kitchen practices.
Assisting in the selection, induction and training of kitchen staff where required.
Preserving and storing food through appropriate freezing and food preservation methods where necessary.
Essential Requirements
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
Diploma of Hospitality Management is preferred.
Minimum ofthree years of full time relevant work experienceas a Chef gained after completing the required qualifications.
Demonstrated experience preparing authentic North and South Indian vegetarian cuisine in a commercial kitchen.
Strong knowledge of Indian spices, traditional cooking techniques and vegetarian food preparation.
Proven ability to supervise kitchen staff and maintain consistent food quality.
Good understanding of Australian food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced commercial kitchen while maintaining high quality standards.
Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Current South Australian driver's licence or the ability to obtain one.
Availability to work on a seven day rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
