We are seeking afull-time Geotechnical Technician / Soil Testerto join our team based in the Greater Brisbane Area.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for carrying out field and laboratory testing to support geotechnical investigations for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collecting soil samples, conducting a range of geotechnical tests—including compaction, density, and moisture content testing—accurately recording and interpreting results, and preparing detailed reports for our engineering team.
You will also be responsible for maintaining testing equipment, ensuring all work complies with relevant Australian Standards and workplace health and safety requirements, and working closely with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to deliver projects efficiently and on schedule.
From time to time, you may also assist with site inspections and surveying activities, contributing to the successful delivery of a wide range of development projects.

Qualifications
Experience in geotechnical or construction materials testing, including field sampling and laboratory soil testing methods.
Knowledge of relevant testing standards and procedures (e.g., AS standards) and ability to follow detailed technical instructions.
Strong attention to detail, data recording, and basic report writing skills to document and communicate test results accurately.
Ability to work safely on active construction and development sites, including manual handling, equipment setup, and adherence to OH&S; requirements.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, and other technical staff.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites within the Greater Brisbane Area.
Certificate or diploma in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, construction materials testing, or a related field is advantageous.
Previous experience with subdivision or residential building projects, and familiarity with light gauge steel construction, is beneficial.
