We are seeking an experienced and motivatedFinancial Accountantto join our Finance team and contribute to the financial stewardship and ongoing success of the College.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant plays a key role in supporting the College's financial management, reporting and compliance functions.
This position is responsible for a variety of financial and management accounting activities, including monthly reporting, reconciliations, financial analysis, budgeting support and regulatory compliance.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, Director of Business and other key stakeholders across the College, the Financial Accountant provides accurate financial information and insights to support effective decision-making and ensure the College maintains strong financial governance.
Key Responsibilities
Support the College's financial reporting and management accounting functions
Prepare monthly financial reports, reconciliations, journals and accruals
Manage the general ledger and complete key reconciliations and month-end processes
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
Support taxation, statutory reporting, year-end accounts and audit activities
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies and financial controls
Contribute to process improvements and finance system enhancements
Provide high-quality financial support and build positive relationships across the College
About You
You are a detail-oriented accounting skilled who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in producing accurate and meaningful financial information.
You bring strong analytical skills, excellent organisational abilities and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
You are equally comfortable working independently and as part of a team and are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes while building positive relationships with colleagues across the wider College community.

Strong financial and management accounting skills, with excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Advanced spreadsheet and system capability
High attention to detail, professionalism and commitment to confidentiality
Collaborative and customer-focused approach
Appreciation of and commitment to the Christian values and Lutheran ethos of Immanuel College
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Accounting or related discipline
CPA/CA qualification preferred
Minimum three years' experience in a similar accounting role
Sound knowledge of accounting principles and relevant standards
Experience in the education sector is desirable however not essential
