About the role
Sandy Bay Child Care Centre is seeking a dedicated and passionate
Early Childhood Educator
to join our team preferably on a
full-time basis
. If you are looking for a four-day role this could be negotiated. Based in Sandy Bay, and located within Princess Street Primary School, this role is central to our mission of providing high-quality care and education to children in our centre. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where children can learn, grow and develop during their formative years. You will work collaboratively with families and colleagues to support each child's individual development and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning activities and experiences that foster children's cognitive, physical, social and emotional development
Providing direct care and supervision to children, including assistance with routines such as feeding, toileting and rest time
Maintaining a safe, clean and engaging learning environment that encourages exploration and play-based learning
Building positive relationships with children and their families, communicating regularly about progress and wellbeing
Observing and documenting children's development and learning to inform planning and identify individual needs
Collaborating with and leading other educators to ensure consistency of approach and quality outcomes
Supporting children with additional needs or developmental concerns, working with families and external professionals as required
Following health, safety and hygiene protocols, including infection control procedures
Contributing to a positive and inclusive centre culture that values diversity and respects all families
What we're looking for
A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (Diploma or 3/4 year Degree level or equivalent)




Current Working with Children Check clearance or willingness to obtain one
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within a reasonable timeframe)
Demonstrated knowledge of child development and current early childhood education approaches and philosophies
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and the community
A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach to working with young children
The ability to work as part of a team whilst also leading a small group of educators
Sound organisational skills and attention to detail
A commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
Experience working in early childhood education or early education settings
