The Role

You'll join our team at the Lotus Glen Correctional Centre, as part of the mental health services team and provide a range of clinical support to adults in our care including:

Conducting independent risk assessments of harm to self or others, including acute or chronic riskProviding psychoeducation related to mental health conditions, symptoms and treatment options to individualsDelivering individual or group-based skill acquisition focused interventions aimed at developing coping skills and building resilience

The Location:

Lotus Glen Correctional Centre is located in Mareeba, just 1 hour from Cairns on the Atherton Tablelands. The centre is client centric and aims to build cultural safety in its programs and services, as approximately 70 per cent of the prisoner population are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Mandatory Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Psychology and registration or eligibility for registration with APHRA; ORTertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and registration or eligibility for registration with APHRA; ORTertiary qualifications in Social Work and membership or eligibility for membership with AASW; ANDC Class Driver's Licence
