Senior Community Development Officer

This is more than a community development role, it's an opportunity to shape initiatives that strengthen one of Australia's most unique and diverse regional communities. Working within the Youth and Community Development team, you will lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of programs that build community capacity, encourage participation and create meaningful social outcomes.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Youth and Community Development, you will:
Lead the development and delivery of community development and engagement initiatives.
Design and implement community consultation programs supporting major Town projects.
Develop strategic partnerships with community groups, government agencies, businesses and key stakeholders.
Manage community grants and capacity-building programs.
Evaluate programs using evidence-based approaches and community outcomes.
Provide specialist advice on community engagement across the organisation.
Support strategic planning and continuous improvement within the Community Development team.




Mentor and support staff while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing culture.
About You
You are an experienced community development professional with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence positive outcomes.
You will bring:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Social Sciences, Communications or a related discipline.
Significant experience delivering community development or engagement programs.
Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
Strong written communication skills, including reports, presentations and funding submissions.
Exceptional relationship-building and facilitation skills.
Experience leading teams or mentoring others.
A collaborative, cutting-edge and solutions-focused approach.
Experience within Local Government, Asset Based Community Development and grants administration will be highly regarded.
