Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority is seeking an experienced and capable Strategy and Engagement Manager to lead a critical portfolio spanning organisational strategy, stakeholder engagement, Traditional Owner partnerships and Regional Catchment Strategy
About the roleThis is a contemporary leadership role that connects strategic planning with practical delivery. You will lead the development, implementation and review of key organisational strategies and initiatives, including the Regional Catchment Strategy, stakeholder engagement and communications strategy, the statewide climate change program, Traditional Owner partnerships and related organisational priorities.You will play a key role in identifying emerging opportunities, strengthening strategic partnerships, supporting investment, and funding opportunities, and ensuring the organisation continues to deliver measurable outcomes for the catchment and the community.The role requires a confident, collaborative, and values-based leader who can influence across complex environments, provide high-quality advice to senior leaders, and support a high-performing team culture. Key responsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Lead strategic planning, engagement and partnership initiatives aligned with organisational priorities.Provide strategic advice to the CEO, Executive Team and Board on opportunities, risks, partnerships and investment priorities.Build and maintain effective relationships with Traditional Owners, government agencies, funding bodies, community organisations,



industry representatives and other key stakeholders.Support the development and delivery of key organisational reporting, including corporate planning and annual reporting requirements.Represent the organisation in strategic forums, committees, and collaborative initiatives. About youYou will be a strong strategic leader with the ability to balance big-picture thinking with practical delivery. You will bring sound judgement, excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.You will have demonstrated experience in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, program delivery and organisational leadership. You will also be capable of leading people through complexity, managing competing priorities and building the relationships needed to deliver long-term outcomes.You will bring:Solid strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and partnership development experience.Proven leadership capability, including experience leading and developing professional teams.Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, programs or organisational initiatives.Highly developed communication, negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills.Strong analytical, reporting and continuous improvement capability.Experience working with governance, performance and organisational planning frameworks.



Qualifications and experienceThe successful candidate will have:A degree qualification in business, public administration, environmental management, communications, stakeholder engagement, leadership or a related discipline.Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, engagement, program delivery and organisational leadership.Experience leading teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.A current Victorian Driver Licence. Desirable experience includes:A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.Experience working in government, natural resource management, the public sector or community-based organisations.Experience securing or managing funding, grants or investment programs.
