. These positions require individuals who are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for students, staff, visitors, and contractors while delivering exceptional customer service.
Corporate Security Officer
Roster:
Fixed rotating shifts:
6:00 am – 6:00 pm
6:00 pm – 6:00 am
Shift work including weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a professional and welcoming presence to staff, students, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
Monitor campus access points and enforce access control procedures.
Conduct regular security patrols across the campus, including academic buildings, accommodation, libraries, car parks, and surrounding grounds.
Respond to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and requests for assistance.
Perform welfare checks and provide assistance to students and staff when required.
Monitor CCTV and report suspicious activity.
Complete accurate incident reports and maintain security records.
Liaise professionally with emergency services, university staff, and management.
Maintain a high standard of customer service while ensuring campus safety.




Event Security Officer
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a highly visible security presence during university and public events.
Monitor crowd behaviour and identify potential safety or security risks.
Respond promptly and professionally to incidents and emergencies.
Patrol assigned areas, including entry points, stages, VIP areas, and restricted zones.
Assist with access control and patron management.
Enforce venue rules, event conditions of entry, and relevant legislation.
Complete detailed incident reports following events.
Work closely with event organisers and emergency services to ensure safe event operations.
Skills and Experience
Successful applicants will possess:
Current Queensland Security Provider Licence.
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.
Own reliable vehicle for travel to and from work.
Australian Citizenship or full Australian working rights.
Previous experience in Corporate Security, University Security, Government Security, Critical Infrastructure, Events, or similar environments.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong situational awareness and observation skills.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
Demonstrated conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
Strong report writing and computer skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and personal presentation.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to working a fixed roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Desirable
Experience working in a university, education, healthcare, or corporate environment.
Experience responding to emergencies, welfare incidents, and alarm activations.
Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain one).
Current Mental Health First Aid Certificate (desirable).
