About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Coordinator to primarily support our Dominic Outside School Hours Care service. This role could be full-time or part-time for the right person, and hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant. You will provide confident leadership across quality, compliance, educational practice, team culture, family relationships and service administration.
Working collaboratively with the Manager – Quality, Culture & Operations and your service leadership team, you will nurture a positive culture of collaboration, innovation and reflective practice. The role also offers the opportunity to grow into a broader support role across other Discovery locations within the Greater Hobart area. You will support Educational Leaders and educators to deliver child-centred programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, My Time, Our Place and the National Quality Framework.
The Coordinator will be responsible for nurturing a positive and lively culture of collaboration and innovation, while ensuring a focus on quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
Duties:
Lead the day-to-day operation of the service and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures
Provide professional leadership, supervision, mentoring and support to educators and the wider service team
Build a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture focused on reflective practice and continuous improvement
Support the Educational Leader and educators to deliver high-quality, child-centred educational programs
Lead the development and ongoing review of the service Quality Improvement Plan
Develop respectful and supportive relationships with children, families, schools, community organisations and other stakeholders
Oversee rosters, staffing requirements, records, reporting, service administration and other operational responsibilities
Embed Discovery's Child Safe Standards and ensure the safety, wellbeing, dignity and rights of every child are upheld
You must have:
A minimum Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
Relevant and proven leadership and management experience in an education and care setting
Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration – or willingness to obtain
A current driver's licence and the ability to travel between Discovery locations as required
Regular availability and flexibility to work a range of shifts during our opening hours (6:30 am – 6:30 pm)
