Experienced CPAP Technician / Future Clinical Manager
About Us
Western CPAP is a rapidly expanding provider of sleep and respiratory care, with locations in Rockingham and our new, purpose-built facility in Myaree.
Our clinics provide a range of diagnostic and treatment services, including Level 2 home-based sleep studies, CPAP trials, mask fittings, patient education and ongoing therapy support. We are also preparing to expand into Level 1 in-lab sleep studies at our Myaree location.
In partnership with our associated business, Oxygen West, this role also offers the opportunity to work across broader respiratory care, including oxygen therapy, concentrators, cylinders, 6-minute walk tests and pulse dose assessments.
We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional patient care, strong clinical standards and practical, patient-focused solutions using leading brands including ResMed, Philips, Fisher & Paykel, Löwenstein and BMC.
Position Available
We are seeking an experienced CPAP Technician for a part-time role of approximately 3–4 days per week, with one of those days being a Saturday.
This role will initially be a hands-on, customer-facing clinical role performing CPAP consultations, sleep study set-ups, patient education, equipment support and therapy follow-up.
However, we are looking for someone with the experience, maturity and clinical knowledge to grow with the business. As the Myaree clinic becomes busier and our clinical services expand, there will be a genuine opportunity for the right person to evolve into a Clinical Manager role.
We already have administrative management support in place. What we are looking for now is someone who can help strengthen the clinical side of the business — someone who is comfortable doing the day-to-day patient-facing work now, but who also has the capability and interest to help shape clinical processes, procedures, team training and service development over time.
Role Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CPAP technician who wants more than just a standard technician role.
You will be directly involved in patient care from day one, while also contributing to the development of a growing clinic. As the business evolves, we would like to mould the role around the right person's strengths, with the potential to take on increased clinical leadership responsibilities.
This may include assisting with clinical policies and procedures, workflow development, staff training, quality assurance, clinical strategy and the continued development of our sleep and respiratory services.
Role Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include:
Setting up and conducting Level 2 home-based sleep studies, with future opportunities to be involved in Level 1 in-lab studies.
Conducting CPAP trials, including patient education, mask fitting, therapy support and follow-up.
Supporting patients with CPAP, APAP, BiPAP and related therapy options.
Operating diagnostic software and equipment, including Philips PDx, G3 software, NOX A1 and Noxturnal software.
Assisting customers with the selection and use of CPAP devices, masks, accessories and related products.
Reviewing therapy data and supporting patients to improve comfort, compliance and treatment outcomes.
Maintaining equipment, infection control standards and quality assurance processes.
Assisting with the development of clinical procedures, workflows and service standards as the clinic grows.
Collaborating with team members across Western CPAP and Oxygen West to deliver comprehensive sleep and respiratory care.
Essential Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will ideally have:
Demonstrated experience conducting CPAP trials and supporting patients with CPAP therapy.
Strong knowledge of CPAP devices, masks,
accessories and software platforms.
Experience using Philips PDx, NOX A1 and associated software, including G3 and Noxturnal.
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide excellent patient education and customer care.
A positive, motivated and professional approach.
The ability to work independently while also contributing to a growing team environment.
Strong IT skills, including the ability to learn and troubleshoot diagnostic and therapy software.
A genuine passion for patient care and improving clinical outcomes.
Honesty, reliability and a proactive attitude.
Highly Regarded, But Not Essential
Experience in any of the following areas would be highly regarded:
BiPAP, ASV or other advanced respiratory therapies.
ResMed Therapy Plan, NightShift or positional therapy systems.
Oxygen therapy, including oxygen concentrators, cylinders and portable oxygen equipment.
6-minute walk tests and pulse dose assessments.
Clinical leadership, staff training or procedure development.
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain these qualifications.
Benefits of Joining Western CPAP
This role offers:
The opportunity to join a growing business at an exciting stage of development.
A hands-on clinical role with a genuine pathway toward clinical management.
The chance to help shape the clinical systems, procedures and standards of a developing clinic.
A varied role across sleep diagnostics, CPAP therapy and respiratory care.
Cross-training opportunities through our partnership with Oxygen West.
A supportive team setting.
Professional growth and development opportunities.
Flexible scheduling options.
Competitive remuneration based on experience.
