About The Lavarack Health Centre

Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia. It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment. The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately **** members.



It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally ********* Monday – Friday

What You'll Do

Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.Undertaking assessments, interventions, managing medications, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical workplace where patient wellness is paramount

What You Bring

Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered NurseCredentialing with ACMHN or Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing (or recognised international equivalent)Minimum two years' post-graduate mental health experience, including comprehensive assessments and delivery of 'Focussed Psychological Strategies'Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' and 'Psychological Therapy' as per Medicare Schedule Current CPR certification (HLTAID009) Australian Citizenship required to obtain Baseline Security ClearanceCommitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
