Oaky Creek Coal is looking for a driven individual who demonstrates high levels of organisation and attention to detail. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Surface Gas Drainage Coordinator will coordinate time-critical projects and day-to-day operations across surface gas drainage infrastructure to maximise safety, availability and reliability. The role focuses on optimisation of wells, pipelines, vacuum systems, flares/oxidisers and ancillary equipment, with clear ownership of schedule, cost and risk.
Key responsibilities include planning and executing maintenance activities, leading contractor interfaces, verifying critical controls in the field, and ensuring compliance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act/Regulations (Qld) and the site SHMS.
You will maintain procedures and technical documents, manage permits/isolations, track KPIs (e.g., schedule adherence, gas capture/availability, unplanned downtime reduction), and prepare concise progress reports while collaborating closely with Underground Technical Services (OCN) and other stakeholders.




You are a hands-on leader with strong organisational discipline, attention to detail and a continuous-improvement mindset. An engineering qualification (Mechanical/Mining/Petroleum or related) or equivalent experience is desirable, along with proficiency in SAP, Microsoft 365 and scheduling tools, and confidence using historian/SCADA trends for data-driven decisions.
