Instructional Designer (12-Week Contract)We are seeking an experienced and impact-driven Instructional Designer for a fast-paced 12-week contract. In this role, you will help design, build and deliver key components of an evidence-based child safeguarding program tailored for community sports volunteers, coaches and administrators. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running, work iteratively and translate complex child safety and wellbeing information into practical and engaging online courses and resources.This is a unique opportunity to use your learning design expertise to make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of children and young people in community sport.
What You'll Do:· Design and develop interactive, self-paced online courses on child safety and wellbeing topics,
applying adult learning principles to ensure effective learning· Evaluate existing and new materials and transform them into engaging content to enhance learning outcomes· Integrate scenario-based learning, multimedia, assessment and supplementary practical resources, ensuring content is highly practical for community sports audience· Build and test online courses directly within our existing LMS, ensuring cross-device functionality and web accessibility· Collaborate within a small project team to meet project goals and deliver high-quality outputs within a tight timeframe
About You:· Tertiary qualification in Learning Design, Education or a related discipline, backed by demonstrated experience developing engaging online learning experiences for adult learners· Strong ability to translate complex concepts and policy information into learner-friendly content and resources that reflect real-world situations· Solid technical proficiency to build eLearning content directly within an LMS· Ability to use your understanding of the community sports sector and culture to design impactful content · A track record of working effectively and accurately, and a willingness to adapt to evolving project needs· Strong commitment to the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of children· Ability to hold and maintain a Working with Children's Check – Blue Card
Desirable:· Familiarity with Queensland Child Safe Standards and the Universal Principle· Knowledge of social and emotional wellbeing, child-centred principles, or trauma-informed practice· Experience in health promotion, wellbeing education or child protection spaces· Multimedia/graphic design skills to support content development
