About the roleAs a Property & Leasing Officer at Yarra Ranges Council, you'll play a key role in the management of Council's diverse property portfolio, providing expert advice and support across a broad range of property and leasing matters. You'll coordinate the creation and ongoing management of leases, licences and rental agreements, ensuring compliance with Council policies and relevant legislation while maintaining strong relationships with tenants, community groups and other stakeholders. In this varied role, you'll oversee Council's responsibilities as both lessor and lessee, undertake site visits and tenancy inspections, and serve as a primary point of contact for leaseholders.
You'll also prepare Council reports, maintain the Leasing Register, lead Expression of Interest processes, and work collaboratively across the organisation to identify opportunities that support the effective and sustainable use of Council-owned properties. This is a pivotal position within a small, highly collaborative team responsible for managing more than 380 leases and licences.
The team operates in a fast-paced environment with a consistently high volume of work, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and balancing multiple priorities. Following the recent successful recruitment of a similar role, Council is continuing to invest in the service with the creation of this additional position.
