Development Compliance Officer
Salary: $90,507 - $105,447 per annum
Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
Permanent Full Time position

An exciting prospect is available for a suitably experienced person to join the City of Joondalup as a Development Compliance Officer within the City's Regulatory Services business unit.
As part of a professional and friendly development compliance team, the role primarily involves investigating and resolving planning and building compliance matters relating to residential and commercial property. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in a similar role, investigating concerns or complaints, undertaking inspections to identify any breaches of applicable legislation, and preparing written advice to the public and other stakeholders.
Your covering letter will need to address the following selection criteria:
Demonstrated ability to apply, interpret and administer Local Laws,



the Local Planning Scheme, the Residential Design Codes, the Building Act ****, and the Planning and Development Act ****.
Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to effectively liaise and negotiate with internal and external parties.
Demonstrated experience in the building industry and/or compliance related field.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including experience liaising effectively and courteously with customers.
The successful candidate will require a current WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence and a current National Police Certificate.
