About This Opportunity
As a Senior Project Officer, you will play a hands‐on role in delivering a health promotion program that makes a real difference in community. It is focused on creating practical, culturally relevant health resources alongside communities and supporting their use in everyday settings. Potential to travel to communities and co‐create resources, build relationships and ensure the work is grounded in what matters most. Working within a tight‐knit and highly supportive team, you will be encouraged to bring your strengths, grow your skills and contribute to a positive environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff are empowered to support one another and succeed. This role offers meaningful opportunities to help support mob while also building your capability, with exposure to broader research projects across the team if you are interested in developing those skills.
Creating and adapting health promotion resources with and for communities, ensuring they are practical, culturally appropriate and accessible.
Engaging directly with communities, including travelling to community locations to support co‐design and delivery of resources guided by community priorities.
Managing communication activities such as responding to requests for resources and supporting project enquiries.
Developing and delivering social media content, including Facebook and Instagram posts, to share health messages and promote resources.
About You
The University of Queensland considers that to perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti‐Discrimination Act **** (Qld).



The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
Experience in project coordination, or the ability to manage tasks and priorities to achieve outcomes.
Experience in, or an interest in, health promotion and a willingness to learn.
Ability to engage with communities and stakeholders in a respectful and culturally appropriate way.
Good written and verbal communication skills, including preparing project materials and documentation.
Ability to think through problems, identify issues, and contribute to practical solutions.
Location and Working Conditions
Based at our Toowong location. Full‐time, fixed‐term position until 30 June ****.
