We are seeking proactive, motivated, passionate and insightful disability support workers to join the separate support teams of two young adults living in the Bendigo area. Both participants are neurodivergent and require workers with a strong understanding of autism, ADHD, psychosocial disability, anxiety, trauma and emotional regulation. One participant also has an intellectual disability. Relevant mental health qualifications, recognised mental health training or demonstrated experience supporting people with psychosocial disability are essential. These are participant focused roles suited to workers who take genuine pride in their work, show appropriate initiative and are passionate about helping people build independence, confidence and meaningful lives.
Key responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting community access, appointments, shopping and meaningful activities
Assisting with routines, planning, organisation and executive functioning
Supporting emotional regulation during periods of anxiety, distress or overwhelm
Using trauma informed and neurodivergent affirming approaches
Recognising changes in presentation, mood, functioning or support needs
Taking appropriate initiative while respecting participant choice and autonomy
Supporting the development of independence, confidence and decision making skills
Assisting with daily living tasks and practical skill development
Supporting social participation and communication
Providing transport to appointments and community activities
Encouraging participants to work towards their individual goals
Following established support plans, risk management strategies and participant preferences
Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
Communicating professionally with participants, families, support coordinators and other members of the support team
Completing clear,



accurate and timely progress notes after each shift
Reporting relevant concerns, incidents or changes in presentation through the appropriate channels
About the participants
The positions involve supporting two separate young adults. Both participants may experience anxiety, emotional distress, executive functioning difficulties and difficulty coping with unexpected changes. They benefit from workers who are calm, predictable, patient and able to respond without becoming controlling, confrontational or dismissive. Workers must respect participant choice, dignity, privacy and individual communication needs. The ability to develop rapport gradually and create a sense of emotional safety is important. Further participant specific information will be provided to shortlisted applicants following appropriate consent and privacy processes.

Willing to receive feedback and adapt their approach to individual participant needs
Committed to providing secure, respectful and consistent support
Essential requirements
Relevant mental health qualifications, recognised mental health training or demonstrated experience supporting people with psychosocial disability
Relevant disability support qualifications or substantial practical experience
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid and CPR certificates
Current Australian driver licence
Access to a reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle
Ability to complete accurate progress notes and incident documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of participant choice, dignity of risk, privacy and professional boundaries
Right to work in Australia

Hours and availability
A range of weekday and weekend shifts may be available. Exact days, times and hours will be discussed with shortlisted applicants and matched according to participant needs, worker availability and compatibility.
