About the role
Integrity Funeral Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled
Funeral Director Assistant
to join our team in Southport, Queensland. This is a
full-time position
that plays a vital role in providing dignified and respectful services to families during their time of need. As a Funeral Director Assistant, you will support our funeral directors in delivering exceptional care and attention to detail, ensuring that each family receives the highest standard of service. This role is essential to maintaining the trust and reputation that Integrity Funeral Services has built within our community.
What you'll be doing
Assisting funeral directors in conducting funeral services, viewings, and other ceremonial occasions
Assisting with the preparation and presentation of the deceased with respect, dignity and professionalism
Managing administrative tasks including documentation, scheduling and record-keeping related to funeral arrangements
Maintaining and organising funeral facilities, ensuring they remain clean, welcoming and properly maintained
Assisting with the coordination of suppliers to deliver beautiful and memorable services for families
Assisting with transportation of the deceased and attending to associated logistical requirements
Supporting the funeral director in creating personalised and meaningful ceremonies that reflect each family's wishes
Answering telephone enquiries and providing information about funeral services offered
Maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating sensitivity when handling sensitive information
Participating in a rostered capacity on the on call roster for overnight and weekend conveyances of deceased from locations as required
What we're looking for
A genuine commitment to providing compassionate care and support to bereaved families
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work sensitively with people during difficult times
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
Physical fitness and capability to perform duties that may include lifting and standing for extended periods
Reliability and punctuality, as this role often involves being on-call for ceremonies, services and conveyances
Discretion and professionalism in all interactions with families and colleagues
Knowledge of funeral industry practices is advantageous but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided
A willingness to learn and develop expertise in funeral services and the broader community services sector
Ability to work both independently and as part of a dedicated team
A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation is required
