About the role
Intertek are looking for a dual Welding/Mechanical inspector with Precast Concrete experience based in Townsville to perform ad hoc technical inspections of Platework Fabrication Package/ Screw Conveyor and Precast/ Concrete products during manufacturing. This role has ownership of servicing clients' needs relative to mining, oil and gas industry in line with Intertek policies and procedures, client quality codes/standards requirements. With great emphasis placed on accurate, and error free reporting, this role would ideally suit a process driven, self-managed technician, who prides themselves in their high attention to detail.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Performing adhoc inspection work within company, client, and regulatory standards, with accuracy, and in a manner which results in positive customer feedback.
Ensuring that all work undertaken is carried out in a timely and cost effective manner.
Ensuring Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)



standards are maintained, and that all work areas are free from risk to persons, equipment, and the natural environment by identifying, assessing and controlling workplace hazards.
Assuming the face of Intertek in all company representative matters, to all Intertek clients, as well as other stakeholders.
Skills and experience
The essential requirements of this role include:
For Mechanical role - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
A minimum of 10 years' experience of inspections in mining, oil and gas industries.
Welding – CSWIP 3.2 or equivalent.
demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Experience in writing and delivering inspection reports of a professional standard.
Demonstrated competence to read and understand contract and shop drawings, material compliance certificates, inspection reports, calibration reports, including the assessment of compliance of these documents with specification criteria.
Ensure that the deliverables produced comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills.
Must have rights to reside and work unrestricted within Australia.
Driver's License.
