Primary objective
The Literacy Intervention Lead is responsible for leading a team of Literacy Support Officers in delivering Tier 2 literacy
interventions. They develop the capacity of Bradshaw's Literacy Support Officers and coordinate their delivery of Tier 2
Literacy interventions.
Context statement
Bradshaw Primary School is located in Alice Springs and serves a student body of approximately 430 students from preschool
to year 6. Bradshaw Primary School caters for students from diverse backgrounds with a large number of Aboriginal and
second language families. Bradshaw's literacy framework is guided by Scarborough's Reading Rope. The successful applicant
will be familiar with assessments (e.g., DIBELS) and interventions that are in alignment with Scarborough's Reading Rope.
They will also be familiar with RTI and MTSS models of interventions and assessment and Read Write Inc.
Key duties and responsibilities
1.
Manage and lead the Literacy Support team.
2. Identify professional learning opportunities and needs of Literacy Support Officers in order to develop capacity to deliver
Tier 2 literacy interventions.
3. Coordinate the collection, collation and analysis of selected school data sets to identify students requiring additional
support in literacy.
4. Collate and analyse data in order to identify and match student needs to interventions and timetable delivery.
5. Allocate students, staff and resources to optimise student learning outcomes.
6. Coordinate effective information flow between staff, school management and other relevant bodies.
7. When required, work with SETs to contribute to EAP and Student Support Plan creation.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Registration or capacity to be registered with the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory with a
demonstrated commitment to own qualified learning.
2. Demonstrated experience in coordinating initiatives and/or projects in school contexts, to successful completion with a
focus on sustainable continuous improvement.
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in order to achieve agreed outcomes.
4. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills including demonstrated cross-cultural
skills, to build, maintain and contribute to effective networks with a range of stakeholders including those in urban and
remote school contexts, to maximise organisational performance.
5. Experience in developing teacher practice in curriculum, teaching, and learning in school contexts.
6. A sound knowledge and understanding of the Australian Curriculum and an understanding of its application at the local
level.

The successful applicant must hold full Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory (TRB) and
