About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
General Practitioner
to join the team at Canungra Town Medical Centre in Canungra, Queensland. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to provide high-quality primary healthcare services to our diverse patient community. As a General Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive medical care, managing chronic conditions, and serving as the first point of contact for patients seeking healthcare services. This position is based in Canungra QLD **** and represents a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the health and wellbeing of our local community.
Key responsibilities
Conducting full medical assessments and consultations with patients across all age groups and presenting complaints
Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions, utilising evidence-based clinical practice
Prescribing medications and providing treatment recommendations in accordance with current clinical guidelines
Performing routine clinical procedures and examinations as required for patient care
Maintaining comprehensive, accurate and timely medical records for all patient consultations
Collaborating with allied health professionals, specialists and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care
Providing preventative healthcare advice and health promotion to patients
Managing patient referrals to specialist services when clinically indicated
Participating in on-call or after-hours services as per the clinic's requirements
Contributing to the continuous improvement of clinical services and medical centre operations
What we're looking for




Current registration with the Australian Medical Board as a General Practitioner
Valid Australian medical degree or overseas qualification with appropriate recognition
Demonstrated experience in general practice and primary healthcare delivery
Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to manage a wide range of medical presentations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds
Proficiency in using medical software and electronic health record systems
A commitment to professional development and continued medical education
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Current CPR certification and other relevant clinical certifications
A compassionate approach to patient care with a genuine commitment to improving health outcomes
Preferred experience in rural or regional general practice settings
