Access Community Housing Company

Queensland

Technology that works. Systems that improve how we work. A role where you can make both happen.
Access Community Housing Company (ACHC) is seeking a hands-on technology generalist with strong business improvement capability to join our operational leadership group.
ACHC is a not-for-profit community housing provider delivering social housing across Far North Queensland. We work with government, community organisations and delivery partners to provide safe, stable housing and create positive outcomes for tenants and communities.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Technology and Business Systems Lead will be ACHC's internal operational leader for technology, information and business systems. You will work across the organisation to keep our technology environment secure and reliable, coordinate external providers, improve systems and reporting, and turn identified business problems into practical solutions.
Why This Role Matters
Reliable technology, good information and effective business systems make it easier for our teams to deliver quality housing services.
This is not a role where you will only manage providers, write strategies or respond to support tickets. You might be resolving a practical technology issue in the morning, working with a team to improve a business process in the afternoon, and planning a system upgrade or reporting solution the next day.
You will have the opportunity to understand how ACHC works, identify where technology can make a genuine difference and take approved improvements from initial investigation through to implementation.
What You'll Be Doing
Act as ACHC's internal operational lead for day-to-day technology services, working closely with our external IT provider and system vendors.
Provide practical technology support and administration while ensuring complex or specialist issues are effectively escalated and resolved.
Administer and improve ACHC's business systems, Microsoft environment, user access, devices and technology assets.
Work with teams across ACHC to investigate process and system issues, assess options and implement practical solutions.

Support organisational and regulatory reporting through data analysis, SQL reports and other reporting tools.
Monitor data quality and work with operational teams to identify and address recurring or systemic issues.
Strengthen cyber security, privacy, access management, business continuity and information-management controls.
Lead or coordinate technology, systems, automation and workflow-improvement projects.
Develop clear system documentation, user guidance and training to help staff confidently use technology.
Maintain a practical technology roadmap and provide advice to the CFO on risks, priorities, lifecycle requirements and future needs.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a
strong technology generalist with business improvement capability
.
You are technically capable, but you can also communicate clearly with people who have different levels of technical confidence.
You are curious about how work gets done, why systems do not always support it and what a practical improvement might look like.
You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and resolving issues directly, while also knowing when to involve an external provider or specialist.
You can move from investigation and analysis through to implementation, testing, documentation, training and review.
You bring sound judgement, initiative and the ability to work through problems that may not initially have a clear answer.
You will ideally have experience across:
technology infrastructure and day-to-day operations
Microsoft 365 environments
identity and access management
devices and technology assets
business systems and process improvement
data, reporting and databases
cyber security and privacy
project and change delivery
external IT providers and software vendors

Experience using SQL to develop or maintain reports would be highly regarded. Experience in community housing, human services, the not-for-profit sector or another regulated environment would also be advantageous, but is not essential.
Relevant qualifications in information technology, business systems, information management or a related discipline are desirable. Substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
