South Street Dental Centre is a
busy, modern dental practice in O'Connor
with a strong focus on high-quality patient care, personal service and teamwork. As we continue to grow, we seek
a
Dental Assistant
who enjoys working in a
structured, fast-paced environment.
This part time (3-4 days/week) role is particularly suitable for someone who is considering or currently enrolled in a dental assisting certification.
Candidates must have valid Australian work rights.
Your responsibilities:
Greet patients and prepare them for scheduled dental procedures;
Provide procedural assistance to the dentists, therapists and senior nurse
Prepare the treatment room as directed by the dental operator and ensure correct, clean instruments and materials are available for use;
Clean and sterilise the instruments prior to and after treatment;
Clean the surgery and treatment room in accordance with the practice's policies and procedures, including decontamination procedures for infection control;
Provide administrative assistance, including the maintenance and re-stock of dental and office supplies;
Operate digital imaging equipment; positioning, capturing and processing x-rays
Undertake reception and customer service duties, including, but not limited to, answering the telephone and carrying out general office duties when/as required




Follow standard procedures and protocols, read and acknowledge staff notices and memos

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
Experience in dental assisting (preferred)
Cert III Dental Assisting obtained or enrolled is highly desirable
Attention to care and detail
Ability to follow systems, scripts, and standard operating procedures
Reliability, punctuality, and accountability
Ability to work under pressure and excellent time management skills
A team-focused attitude and willingness to learn and grow
Great communication skills
