We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Financial Accountant
to play a key role in supporting our Financial Controller and broader Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with business partnering, process improvement, and financial analysis.
What you'll do
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial analysis, journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger and asset registers, including lease and fixed asset accounting.
Prepare statutory returns including BAS and FBT, and assist with audit and external reporting requirements.
Support US reporting obligations and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and taxation legislation.
Management Reporting & Planning
Develop and deliver management reports, dashboards, KPIs, covenant reporting, ARC reporting, and grant reporting as required.
Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
Maintain accounting policies, finance procedures, and policy registers.
Champion a strong internal control environment and support governance requirements.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and business value.
General
Provide support to the Financial Controller on projects, investigations, and ad hoc financial analysis.
Contribute to a cooperative team environment and fulfil WHS responsibilities in line with organisational requirements.
What you'll bring
Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
CA/CPA qualified or currently working towards professional accreditation.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Financial Accounting role.
Robust knowledge of Australian accounting, taxation, and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical, financial reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
