Position: Part-Time Employee Relations Manager

Reid Fruits is seeking an
Employee Relations Manager
to support our cherry production team across Southern Tasmania.
This position would suit someone with a background in HR, workforce management, or employee relations who is looking for meaningful work with flexibility and variety — perhaps a semi-retired professional wanting to stay engaged in a supportive, hands-on role in an exciting industry.
The role is approximately one day per week across most of the year, with more involvement during the lead-up to and throughout harvest season. From September to early December the working hours increase as the successful applicant will play a vital role in helping us recruit, support, and manage our seasonal workforce for the harvest season. Once harvest starts from late December until mid February, it's all hands on deck for long days and weekends! Flexibility and availability during this period will be important.
About the Role
You will work in close cooperation with our leadership team to help create a positive and well-supported workplace during both day-to-day operations and the busy harvest season.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing recruitment and workforce planning strategies for harvest operations
Recruitment of suitably qualified staff for key seasonal positions
Supporting managers and supervisors with staffing and employee matters
Providing practical,
people-focused advice in a fast-moving environment
Helping ensure workplace practices meet employment obligations and reflect company values
Assisting with onboarding, communication, and performance management
Contributing to a respectful, productive, and supportive workplace culture
Helping resolve people and staffing issues with a calm and practical approach
About You
We are looking for someone who brings experience, common sense, and strong people skills.
Ideally, you will have:
Experience in HR, employee relations, workforce management, or a related field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A practical, calm, and solutions-focused approach
The ability to work independently and build strong working relationships
Confidence supporting managers and teams during busy periods
Experience working with seasonal or agricultural workforces would be highly regarded but is not essential.
