About The Facility

Gloucester Soldiers Memorial Hospital (GSMH) is part of the Lower Mid North Coast Sector within Hunter New England Local Health District.

Located In The Beautiful Gloucester Valley, GSMH Is An Acute Care Facility Providing Essential Health Services To The Local Community. The Hospital Includes

14 acute care beds within Roma Ward.Emergency Department facilities.Day Stay Unit.Operating Theatre.Community Health Centre.

Roma Ward provides care to medical and surgical patients, supported by a dedicated team of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing, General Practitioners, Visiting Medical Officers and Allied Health professionals.

Gloucester offers a unique rural lifestyle, surrounded by the Bucketts and Mograni Ranges and crossed by the Avon, Barrington and Gloucester Rivers. Known for its welcoming farming community, the area provides opportunities to enjoy fishing, canoeing, horse riding, bushwalking, camping and the natural beauty of the region.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Health Security Assistant to join Gloucester Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

Reporting to the appropriate hospital manager, you will provide a range of essential support services that contribute to the safety, comfort and wellbeing of patients, visitors and staff.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Providing security support and maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.Undertaking cleaning duties to support a safe and hygienic healthcare workplace.Assisting with patient care activities across wards as required.Transporting patients safely to and from wards, theatre and imaging areas using wheelchair or bed rounds.Supporting hospital operations and responding to changing priorities as required.Working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams across the facility.

About You

We are seeking a reliable, adaptable and team-focused person who is committed to providing high-quality support within a healthcare environment.

You Will Bring

A current Security Licence (essential).Strong communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with patients, visitors and staff.A willingness to learn new skills and undertake training as required.The ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond positively to current challenges.A commitment to teamwork and providing a supportive service to the community.

Previous security or healthcare experience is desirable; however, a willingness to learn and participate in comprehensive training will be highly valued.

Essential Requirements

Class 1A Security Licence under the Security Industry Act, ****Ability to shift work

What You'll Be Doing

Responsible for assisting in patient care, inner facility patient transfer, maintaining a high degree of cleanliness, dealing with security issues, including patient restraints to support the effective and effective functioning of the health service.
